how do you pick your spots when hedging a bet?
how much do you hedge or what % of your original bet do you hedge if you are playing a 2nd half?
I believe i have cost myself some money this season by not hedging successfully and not picking correct spots
2 examples for you 1 successful, 1 unsuccessful and i picked my spots arbitrarily...
I had Iowa +7 for game @ wisconsin. I believe they were leading by about 3 at the half. I took Wisconsin -4 for the second half. The middle came through nicely. I had 1.5 units on iowa and 1.5 units on wisc 2nd half.
Ex 2...I had NYJ +4 (bought .5) against the giants this weekend...i know they were up at the half. I'm don't remember by how much. If i hedge my bet with a 2nd half play on the giants, I may lose the jets bet, but i cash with the giants. Did I play this correctly by letting it ride?
Any opinions would be much appreciated. This is an aspect of betting that will help me greatly this season.
